Module E: Macroinvertebrate Response Assessment Index (MIRAI)

The standard protocol for macroinvertebrate-based river health assessment in South Africa, complementing the rapid SASS5 method with a more detailed ecological interpretation. The Macroinvertebrate Response Assessment Index (MIRAI) evaluates the ecological condition of river reaches based on changes in macroinvertebrate community composition relative to reference conditions.
